So here are some steps to overcome this dns probe finished no internet problem.

Note: If you are using any router then save all your current internet settings before you go further to fix this problem.

  1. Open “Control Panel” and open “Network and Internet”.
  2. Now look for “network and sharing center” option and click on it (left click).
  3. On the right side of the “Network and sharing option” window clink on “Change adapter settings” link.
  4. A list of network adapters will appear, find your appropriate adapter and right click on it.
  5. After you right click on your specific adapter click on “Properties”.
  6. A new window of properties will open, search for “Internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” option and open it.
  7. Another properties window will open; in this window you will access the settings for the internet protocol.
  8. Click “Use the following DNS server address:” and in the “Preferred DNS server” field put the following “208.67.222.222”. And in the “Alternative DNS server” field put “208.67.220.220”.
  9. Select the check box “Validate settings upon exit”, you’ll find this at the lower side of the screen then click “OK” and close the windows.
  10. Now another important step is to check and change your router settings and place the same DNS address as the above addresses.
  11. After you are done with your router settings, go to run and type “cmd” and press enter.
  12. The command prompt window will open.
  13. In the CMD window type “IPCONFIG/ALL” (Without the quotes) and press enter.
  14. Now you will have to find the name of the network adapter you are using.
  15. Below your network adapter there will be a field “Physical address” and beside that these will be some code, somewhat like this”78-DD-08-F1-DF-B0”.
  16. Now leave the CMD window open and again open run window and type “NCPA.CPL” in run (without quotes).
  17. Right click on your specific network adapter and click “Properties”.
  18. A properties window will open; now click on “Configure” button.
  19. Click on “Advanced” tab and then click on “Network Address”.
  20. Click on “Value” and in the value field you will have to type and save the DNS addresses we used above and click “OK”.
  21. Now restart your system.
